Well howdy!
What's happenin'?
Sometimes it's really easy for me to get out everything I want to say and sometimes I may have a lot to get off of my mind but the words are hard to find..
There are tons of things swirling around in my brunette head.. I'll try my best to get it all out :)

Firstly, one of my things I've been wanting to do a lot more lately is read the Bible. I've been reading/studying with my parentals and so far it's been extremely beneficial.. I'm really excited about this cuz my parents have the wisdom/knowledge so on and so forth that I don't have yet.. And knowledge of the Bible is something that I want more and more of. It's incredible! I recommend to anybody, if you feel like you are in a weird place in life or just want to know more and understand, read yo bible! yep. that's some advice from me to you.
Also......
There are a ton of things that I feel like I have been lazy about. Up until just recently I feel like I should be doing what I'm doing. Does that make sense? K so.. I'll break this down for ya.. I absolutely love working with children, cuz I still feel like a child. I love music. And for a while I have felt so musically deprived. I haven't been a part of anything percussion wise in about a year. I reaaaaaaaally miss it. And it's not just drums, I just want to play anything. With somebody. I want to learn new instruments and practice again. Which is what brought me to this conclusion.. I want to teach children MUSIC! If I could help at least one kid understand something that I love, that would be my dream. woo!
But there's more!.....
As most of you know... I'm gettin' married! Umm yep. Oh and for those who read my blog, I suggest you look at my fiance's too..

So my good thing to say is... When was the last time you, yes you! went out and did something for someone else? Like for example, going through the Starbucks drive-thru and paying for the person behind you, just because. Maybe that person behind you was having a horrible day and your little act of kindness by spending an extra 4 bucks on someone just made their day a little brighter. I have been thinking about this a lot lately. And you know, that if you do something nice for someone, it's more likely that the nice-ness will spread! Wouldn't that be fantastic? I think so :) and it's just something to think about!

Alrighty people it's been pretty crazy since the last time I posted..

I love the new direction my life is going...
Well firstly and foremostly... I am ENGAGED!
woot!! My absolutely wonderful extremely incredibly awesome boyfriend came down to Oklahoma and surprised me... Asked my parentals for their blessing and then BAM! I'm engaged.. yes indeedy. He is the love of my life, that's fo sho..

School is almost out!!! This semester has gone by unbelievably fast, sheesh. & this was probably one of the best semesters of college I've ever had. I've grown so much closer with certain people and made some really good friendships.. I'm kinda sad to leave for the summer :/
But anywho.... I have some good tunes for you to check out!
First of all..
Ratatat - LP3. Holy cow, this album is amazing. It's completely electronic and has no lyrics. This is as legit as it gets yo... Definitely listen to the songs, "Falcon Jab," "Mirando," & "Imperials." The rest of the songs are also hekka tight, but those are my fave's fo sho..
and.....
Sigur Rós - Með Suð Í Eyrum Við Spilum Endalaust. Ok so I have no idea what that means, but it doesn't matter!! This is the most chillest/sweetest/bombdiggity album ever made.. Every song on this cd has such a marvelous build and then by the end of each song, I'm just left stunned (in amazement) Last night it rained outside and I listened to this whole cd and I went to bed in such a great mood :) I definitely reccommend doing the same thing sometime..

So yes, listen to those RIGHT NOW. you won't regret it :D

Blarg! uhh Hello.
Sorry for my absence, I was waiting to post something until I had some actual legit photo's to put on here.
Sooo, what's new. Hmmm, lemme think.
I'm still obsessed with mewithoutYou, and I'm growing fonder of the Shins everyday.
More good musaak I am listening to would be... Beck's new CD "Modern Guilt", Bob Marley's Greatest Hits, the Flaming Lips "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots", MGMT "Oracular Spectacular", & Modest Mouse "We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank" or actually anything by them. It's been a while since I've been to a live show and that deeply saddens me.
But anyways....
The past couple of months have been pretty fantastic. I got to help out with the Front Ensemble (the Marimbas, Xylophones, stuff like that) at Enid High and I absolutely loved it. I'm not gonna lie, I was pretty darn scared when Mr. White asked me to help, but he stuck around me and made it a lot of fun. and Lemme tell ya, That man is hilarious. Like for reals! =p and Now I'm sad it's over. But I am definitely happy I got the experience, yay!
Last week I got re-accepted in OState. And Oh maaan, am I ready to go back. Don't get me wrong, I have had a good time chillin' with Etown people and my Parentals, but I'm ready for a change. I'm going to move back into Drummond/Kerr and get a private room, it's gonna be tiiiight. I'm going to Stillville this Tuesday to enroll and meet with advisors. I seriously can not wait to start rock-climbing again and drum with all of my COBRA friends, ah can't wait!!

umm Summer is over. sadness, I kno...

It was pretty darn fun... I chilled with lots of different people and stayed up till 4 every morning. It was magical.. ha.

I went to one of their shows (for like the 23872 time) and it was just as amazing as the last time, if not better... They played at frickin' Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa. That's a pretty big deal yo!

Yoooo!

It has been quite a while since I posted anything and I apologize!

Not mucho has happened tho...

I quit my job at Ross...

and Dakota and I broke up also...

It was a pretty upsetting situation and I'm still pretty sad about it all..

I felt as though we didn't know each other that well, so we vow to stay friends and see where things go from there... I just hope we keep talking.

That's pretty much all I want to say about that..

The photography thing is going well, I suppose..

I got a job at a Church a couple of weeks ago to take pictures of the Worship band, the Congregation, and the Children!

So I shall share those photo's with you... right NOW!

An Evening with the Mars Volta.

What UP homies?!
I totally saw the Mars Volta in Tulsa last Tuesday and it was the most brilliant concert I have ever been to!
It was absolutely marvelous. They are so musically talented and it was pretty stellar!
They played every song I wanted them to play, except for one. So that's pretty darn good!
Like, they would play one of their songs and then pretty much improvise and expand the song to like 15 mins!. It was no concert I've ever been to before.. All of the members of the band came out on stage and they dressed and looked nice! (except the drummer, he came out with no shirt on lol.) It was kind of bizarre but it totally fit the vibe of this band.
I highly recommend you check this band out yo! and I also got some pretty sweet pics from the show, with meh new camera :]

Hello people!
Sooo... a lot has happened... A LOT..

First I'll start out by posting a story I put on another blog about my Grandfather.

After a life of smoking cigarettes, it finally caught up with him.
He died of congestive heart failure.
I wish he would have stopped smoking sooner, but it's too late now...
It makes me think of all of my friends that smoke,
and I don't want ANY of them to end up with the pain my grandfather had to deal with. Ya it's real, and it sucks.

But honestly, it breaks my heart, cuz I never really got to know him.
I never really had any in-depth conversations with him.
When it comes right down to it,
I didn't know my own grandpa.

but the most beautiful/perfect thing ever, happened.
Well first off....
Back in the 80's or so, my grandpa opened a repair shop. (it was right next door to their house.) and he spent a whole lot of time in there.
Sharpening saws or repairing other tool related objects.
Lemme paint you a picture about my grandpa's shop.
It has a very distinct smell. (Like oil and Gasoline :P)
and it was always pretty dusty and there was cat liter on the floor.
Ha ya it wasn't a very tidy place.
But that place will always be associated with him. Always.
and...
Since all the family is here, we all went into his shop.
Gah, I hadn't been in there in years! and it was exactly the same.
The smell, the Cat liter(lol), everything. It sure brought back memories.
and We as a family decided to take something from his shop to remember him by. It was finally my turn to pick an object, and honestly I had no clue what to take. Pretty much the only things he had in there was chainsaws, buzzsaws, any saw of any kind. and a hammer. ha.
But as I was rummaging through all this stuff, I found something.
I found my grandfather's bible.
It has so much stuff in it.
Like:
An old picture of his father,
and Some verses he had written out.

Gah, what could be fricken better than that.
I really felt as though God was really looking out for me tonight.
This whole week I was upset because I felt like I didn't know him.
And now as I look through his notes he left in his bible, I will know now everything I will ever need to know about him.
Ha and the best thing is, this bible smells exactly like the shop. :)
I love how God works in such mysterious ways and I find it simply amazing!!!
I feel at ease knowing where my grandfather is.
And I'm sure he's dancing around with Jesus right now :)

I just wanted to share that with everyone on hurrr :D

but that isn't ALL that has happened lately..

August Burns Red + Starbucks Coffee = Perfection!

Yo kiddddds!
I shall explain the title.
So there is this Awesomely Awesome Kick-butt band with the name of August Burns Red. And they happen to be playing a show in OKC! with another extremly HARDCORE band with the name of As I Lay Dying. (which is like my 3rd favorite band if you want to know my rankings and such, LOL) But anyways, I went and got some coffee and now I'm listening to the song 'Truth of a Lier' by ABR on repeat! Gah and indeed it is perfection. and After I listen to this song like 3463489 more times, I shall listen to 'The Eleventh Hour' 434939999 times. Cuz that's how I roll suckas! I am extremely excited for tomorrow (the concert! durrr.) and I also extremely recommend each and everyone that reads this blog to check them out!!!! for reals..

But anyways!
uh I'm playing Snare in Winterline and it's pretty darn fun.. I haven't played Snare since my Jr. year in high school, but I guess I still have some chops left in my hands. (Which is awesome, by the way!) Yay for drumming. I'll put pictures up as soon as I get some. Fo sho..

and....
My NOC classes are going rather nicely and for the most-part I am enjoying it! I heart being home. and Hey maaaybe 4.0 gpa this semester??? It's possible! Heck yaaa!

Well anyways that's pretty much it.
Oh and by the way I looked up some lyrics to some ABR songs, and WOW. I really don't know what else to say. Pure genius maybe?!?! Gah....

It's December 20th and my backyard is still green..?

Hello all!
I couldn't think of a title so I just looked outside and made an odd observation. =P

Sooooo the semester is finally over! and let me say it was the loooongest semester ever.. But I am finally home.
Nothing much really happened this semester.
I played cymbals in the CMB and man was that painful. I had a great time with all the other cymbal players and playing in the stands at football games. We're so crazy, we would add all sorts of visuals and just dance around as a part of the show! Ha we actually did the soulja boy dance for part of a song once. But man I don't think I could ever play cymbals again. I give all the people that have been playing them props because it is a hard instrument. I have never been in sooo much pain. But hey at least I have some muscles now and I can beat up anybody I want! I am glad I choose them because I do have the experience now but I think it's time to move on to something else!
So the next thing I am onto is playing Snare Drum in the OState Winterline. My audition went really well. The snareline from left to right is
Daniel Fishbach, Christian Markes, Myself, Rich Bachman, Brian Isaac, Scotty Don't Taylor, Britny Johnson, Cody Ingles, and Andrew.
There are 4 people (including myself) that are from Enid on the snareline, the rest are OSU students. And Raquel Carlson (also from Enid) is on tenors. Yayyy!

Both of my sisters will be here in 2 days!! ahhhhhh.. This is seriously the longest that anybody hasn't seen anybody ever!

About two weeks ago I went to a Mayola concert and it was absolutely fabulous! I haven't seen them play in about a year. I am a terrible fan but I finally got to see them once again. =)
Riley, Travis, Antonio and Madden are my heroes. There is a new member but I don't know him at all. I'm sure he's awesome though. and They played a kick-a show yo. I highly recommend you check them out! and guess what, they are also from Etown.

Yo!
I love my sisters, and I miss them very much!
I can't wait till Christmas..

But anyways...!
I've been practicing a lot of Snare drum stuff lately and hopefully all this practice will be worthwhile. And by worthwhile I mean I hope I make the Winterline on snare. I hope a lot of the Enid kids come tryout and make it as well. That would be pretty darn sweet.

I might have a photography job coming up soon! I am quite excited about that.
Mr. White (my Drum instructor in Etown) asked me, a while ago, if I wanted to take pictures of the Enid High Drumline for next fall. And he would pay me too! Yayness and stuff =)

I am really indifferent about Stillwater right now. I am just ready to come home for a while.

Oh man, check this out. I have a Crossmen camp this week. Crossmen is a Drum Corp and hopefully one I will make this year. Man I want to make it, but I am really scared. Eeek! =/

Hi,
I will probably just use this website for professional purposes.
But first I will tell you a little about myself.
My name is Lauren but a lot of people call me Ldawg. (I've had the nickname since 9th grade) =)
I really enjoy drumming.
Photography is a passion of mine.
and I enjoy fashion.
Uh I like to have a fun time with my radical friends.
And if I had the choice to go to a party or the park,
I would definitely choose the park.
I love being outside, whether it's hot or cold.
I dye my hair alllll the time. Right now it's dark brown with pink streaks in it. =)
I love my church. (Redeemer Lutheran) and I still try to be active in it even though I'm going to school in another town.
I love cartoons and I will probably watch them the rest of my life.
I like going the road less traveled but that is hard to do sometimes.
I am single.
Penguins are pretty darn cool.
I like to skateboard, but just because I like to do it doesn't mean I'm good. Which I'm not.
Rockclimbing is a new hobby of mine and I really enjoy it!
